Meet General

General is a senior Great Dane who is looking for a soft place to land and a person who will appreciate what a wonderful big-hearted dog he is.

General currently weighs 111 pounds and is a little on the thin side, making him an especially large boy who could benefit from some good meals, veterinary care, and plenty of TLC. There are no known medical records from before he entered the shelter. He has received a parvo/distemper vaccination and has tested heartworm positive. He will need appropriate veterinary evaluation and treatment once he is safely out of the shelter.

Despite everything he is facing, General's personality is already shining through. The shelter describes him as a "truly big softie who just wants companionship and a place to call home."

General is dog-friendly and reportedly enjoys playing with other dogs and spending time outdoors. A cat test has been requested, and additional information about his compatibility with cats will be provided when available.

As a senior dog, General deserves the opportunity to spend his remaining years in a safe, comfortable home rather than a shelter kennel. He is looking for someone who can provide companionship, patience, veterinary care, and the comfort that every senior dog deserves.

General has a hard date of August 28 and will need placement before that date.
