Tigger has already endured more than any dog should, and now he just needs someone willing to open their home—and their heart—to him.
This handsome, approximately two-year-old Great Dane was found wandering as a stray before a kindhearted Good Samaritan brought him to safety. While she's done everything she can for him, she already has two large dogs of her own and simply can't add another to the family. Right now, Tigger is living in her garage because there isn't a safe way to integrate him into the household. He deserves so much more than that.
Tigger is an incredibly affectionate boy who absolutely loves people. If you sit down, don't be surprised when he decides your lap is the perfect place to cuddle. He's happiest when he's close to his humans, soaking up every bit of affection he can get. After likely spending much of his life outdoors, it's clear that all Tigger really wants is to be part of a family.
He's house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and handles new situations with confidence. Like many dogs who have experienced instability, he has shown some separation anxiety, but with consistency and reassurance, he's eager to settle into a routine and simply be loved.
Tigger gets excited when greeting people and may jump up to say hello, so he'd do best with children around 10 years old and older. He has done well meeting adults and older kids and is always ready to make a new friend.
He ignores cats completely and has been friendly with most dogs he's met, including small dogs at the veterinary clinic. He has been selective with one Great Dane, so slow, proper introductions with any resident dogs will be important.
Tigger is currently being treated for minor eye infections and fly strike on his ears and tail, and he's already on the road to feeling better. Save Rocky will continue to support his medical care while he's in foster.
Most of all, Tigger needs a foster family willing to show him what life inside a loving home feels like. A warm bed, regular meals, patient guidance, and someone who won't give up on him could completely change the course of his life.
