SULLY

Location: Dayton, OH

Sully is a sweet, playful, affectionate young dog who loves his people and has a wonderful foundation of training. He is house trained, knows basic commands including sit, stay, and lay down, and walks nicely on leash.

Sully is also a dog who needs a very specific home and an experienced handler who understands that his behavioral needs must be taken seriously.

Sully is highly reactive and territorial in the home and has a history of biting two adult visitors during separate incidents. He has also struggled with other dogs and cats. With careful, controlled introductions, he may potentially be able to live with the right large-breed dog, but a dog-free home may be the best fit.

Sully's ideal home would be a quiet, low-traffic environment with a securely fenced yard. He needs a home without children or cats and would do best with someone experienced in managing large, reactive dogs. His adopter or foster will need to be committed to continued training, structure, and careful management.

Sully has previously worked with a behaviorist, and trazodone has been prescribed for stressful situations.

Sully isn't looking for just any home. He needs someone who will understand his triggers, respect his boundaries, and give him the structure and consistency he needs to succeed. In the right environment, we believe there is so much more to this young dog than his behavioral history.

Sully is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where his needs can be safely managed and he can finally have the opportunity to thrive.
