Rumi is the kind of puppy who quietly waits for someone to notice her.

At just 7–8 months old, this beautiful Great Dane/Catahoula mix can seem shy and reserved in her kennel, content to sit back and observe the world around her. But the moment she steps outside, her true personality shines. She races through the yard with joyful zoomies, bounces through the grass, rolls onto her back for belly rubs, and happily invites everyone to join her fun. Watching her transform from a timid observer into a carefree puppy is impossible not to love.

Weighing approximately 50 pounds, Rumi is still growing and learning. She is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, comfortable around adults, familiar with walking on a leash, and is mostly house-trained, though like any young puppy, she will continue to benefit from consistency and routine. Indoors, she has a calm, quiet demeanor, while outside she embraces every opportunity to play and explore.

Rumi came into the shelter through a cruelty case, but she hasn't allowed her difficult start to define her. Instead, she has shown remarkable resilience, slowly learning that people can be trusted and that life can be filled with kindness, safety, and joy. Every day she becomes a little more confident, revealing the affectionate, playful companion she's always been.
