URGENT: EUTHANASIA CANDIDATE

Nelly is a sweet senior Great Dane who has found herself in a municipal shelter through no fault of her own. Her family moved and was unable to take her with them, leaving this wonderful girl waiting for someone to give her a second chance.

At approximately 9 years old, Nelly is exactly the kind of senior dog who deserves a soft place to land. Unfortunately, the shelter makes euthanasia decisions based on capacity, and because Nelly is a large dog, she is among those most vulnerable when space becomes limited.

The good news? Nelly is an absolute unicorn.

She is reportedly good with dogs, cats, and children, making her a wonderfully versatile companion for a variety of families. She is housebroken, keeps her kennel clean, and walks nicely on leash. She has also been spayed and is current on her vaccines, including rabies. She is already microchipped, although she has not yet been heartworm tested.

Nelly's shelter experience has not changed her sweet nature. She is simply waiting for someone to recognize what a special girl she is and give her the comfortable, loving home she deserves.

As a senior, Nelly isn't looking for a life filled with chaos or endless adventures. She needs companionship, comfort, a soft bed, and someone who will appreciate all the wonderful qualities that come with a mature dog.

If you're looking for a gentle, well-mannered Great Dane who is reportedly friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, Nelly could be the perfect addition to your family.

She has already lost the family she knew once. Let's make sure she doesn't lose her chance at a forever home, too.
