Breed: Cane Corso/Neapolitan Mastiff Mix
BlueBelle needs a foster home.
This beautiful 5-year-old girl is currently at Nacogdoches Animal Shelter, an overcrowded shelter where her size alone puts her at increased risk. At 105 pounds, BlueBelle is a big girl who needs more space, stability, and time than a busy shelter environment can provide.
And the more time the shelter staff spends with her, the more they fall in love with her.
BlueBelle has become such a favorite that she has earned the unofficial role of office dog. The frightened, uncertain girl who first arrived is beginning to relax, make friends, enjoy attention, and show everyone the sweet dog underneath her initial fear.
BlueBelle reportedly came from a home where domestic violence was occurring. While there is no report that she herself was abused, it is understandable that she arrived feeling nervous and unsure of the people around her.
She has been particularly timid around men, but she is making progress. BlueBelle walks well with female staff and has begun becoming comfortable with some of the male staff members as she learns that she is safe.
There is no reported bite history.

The Foster Home BlueBelle Needs
BlueBelle doesn't need someone to expect her to walk through the door and immediately understand that everything has changed.
She needs someone willing to give her time.
A patient foster who will allow her to decompress, establish a routine, build trust at her own pace, and discover what it feels like to live in a safe and predictable home.
For a dog like BlueBelle, getting out of the shelter isn't simply about having more space. It's about giving her the environment she needs to continue making the progress she has already started.
Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue & Rehab can bring BlueBelle into rescue if we can find the foster home she needs.
She has already shown shelter staff how much potential is hiding behind that initially timid exterior. Now she needs someone willing to give her the opportunity to show us the rest.
BlueBelle needs a way out of the shelter. A foster home can give her that chance.
If you can foster BlueBelle, please complete our foster application as soon as possible.
If you cannot foster, please share her story. Somewhere out there is the home that can change everything for this sweet girl.
