Three Great Dane/Lab Mixes Seeking Safe, Loving Homes

Meet Alice, Rosalee, and Edward, three one-year-old Great Dane/Labrador Retriever mixes who are searching for families of their own. While they can be fostered together, they can also be placed separately in homes that are the right fit for each of them.

• Alice – Female
• Rosalee – Female
• Edward – Male

These young dogs were the result of an accidental litter and came into their current owner's care following a loss in the family. Unfortunately, the owner is no longer able to meet their needs and is considering surrendering them to a shelter or pursuing euthanasia. While there is no confirmed deadline, finding placement for them as quickly as possible is critical.

The owner works long hours away from home, leaving the dogs without adequate opportunities for potty breaks and enrichment. Despite these circumstances, they remain affectionate, eager to learn, and full of potential.

About the Dogs:

• Approximately 1 year old
• House-trained, crate-trained, and comfortable riding in the car
• Not yet started on leash, collar, or muzzle training
• Playful, energetic, and eager to please
• Enjoy exercise, attention, and companionship
• Friendly with adults
• Briefly exposed to children with positive interactions

Temperament and Compatibility:

Alice and Rosalee have successfully met and interacted with a friend's Golden Retriever and have shown positive interest in other dogs, often wagging their tails when seeing the older Great Danes around them.

Edward's compatibility with other dogs is currently unknown. He was previously adopted and later returned, with reports that he may have experienced abuse while away from the home.

Because these dogs have had limited socialization, they can be excitable and may jump when greeting people. Rosalee, in particular, thrives on affection and loves being close to her people. They may initially bark at visitors but settle quickly once reassured and introduced properly.

Due to spending long periods alone, they have developed some undesirable behaviors, including chewing inappropriate items and digging. They would benefit from structure, consistency, training, and regular outlets for their energy.

Compatibility:

• Adults: Yes
• Children: Briefly exposed with positive interactions
• Dogs: Yes for Alice and Rosalee; unknown for Edward
• Cats: Unknown

These dogs do not need perfection. They need families willing to invest time, patience, and guidance while embracing their young, playful nature. Most importantly, they need safe homes where they can finally have stability and know that tomorrow is coming.
