Meet Slone
Slone's owner left. Slone was left behind.
After being evicted, Slone's owner reportedly put her outside when animal control arrived, got into her car, and left for Florida. Now this young, underweight girl is sitting at Sampson County Animal Shelter waiting for someone to give her the stability she hasn't had.
At approximately 2 years old, Slone is incredibly sweet, energetic, and still very much a big puppy at heart. She doesn't even appear to know her name yet, but she is eager to interact with people and has plenty of personality waiting to shine.
What Slone needs now is someone who will stay.
About Slone
Slone is an active young dog who will benefit from a foster willing to provide structure, patience, and consistency while she settles into home life.
She shows interest in playing with other dogs and has not displayed reported aggression toward them, but she has not yet received a formal dog evaluation. Any introductions to resident dogs should therefore be handled slowly and appropriately.
She is still learning her manners and can pull on leash, so she will need someone willing to continue working with her. Because of her size, enthusiasm, and puppy-like energy, a home without small children is recommended.
Her history with cats is currently unknown.

Slone Needs a Foster
Slone doesn't need someone expecting a perfectly trained dog. She needs someone willing to give a young dog the guidance and stability she hasn't had.
She needs time to decompress, nutritious meals to help her regain a healthy body condition, consistent boundaries, exercise, training, and a safe place where she can finally understand that she isn't going to be abandoned again.
Slone urgently needs placement out of Sampson County Animal Shelter.
