BAYNARD

Location: Dallas, TX

Some dogs arrive in rescue and quickly find their families. Others wait patiently as countless dogs come and go, never losing hope that their turn will come.

Baynard is one of those dogs.

For nearly a year and a half, this handsome boy has been thriving in foster care while waiting for the right person to see just how special he is. He's become the dog everyone knows the one volunteers ask about, the one people remember, the one who quietly settles into your heart before you even realize it.

And through it all, Baynard has remained remarkably easygoing.

Having spent significant time in a home environment, Baynard has developed an appreciation for the finer things in life. He loves soft beds, air conditioning, a good game of fetch, and being reminded just how handsome he is. He also takes his self-appointed role as household supervisor very seriously and enjoys keeping an eye on everything going on around him.

Baynard's foster believes he would enjoy a home with room to stretch his legs and explore. A property with animals to observe or supervise would certainly appeal to his guardian instincts, and a cooler climate would suit him well. However, prospective adopters shouldn't assume he requires a working lifestyle to be happy.

The truth is, Baynard has become quite fond of indoor living.

He would be equally content retiring from any imagined livestock duties and embracing life as a beloved companion. What matters most to Baynard isn't the size of the property, it's finding people to call his own.

At approximately six years old, Baynard is a mature, confident dog who knows who he is. He is believed to be a Caucasian Shepherd or Leonberger mix with a loyal, independent nature. He enjoys fetch, loves grooming sessions, and has a particularly endearing habit of offering his paw once he has learned to trust you.
